The Hydrogen Structural Materials & Fracture Laboratory was established through a collaboration between the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research.
Hydrogen is expected to play a crucial role in achieving a carbon-neutral society; however, it can degrade the mechanical strength. Our laboratory conducts mechanical strength testing in hydrogen environments to address this challenge.
