Research Education

We, School of Engineering, Kyushu University, offer our students well-established curriculum for their study as well as opportunities for advanced research in the wide variety of fields of engineering under the supervision of experienced faculty members. In particular, we offer foreign students the International Undergraduate Programs taught entirely in English. We also provide the entrepreneurship education programs that foster an entrepreneurial mindset, and we support the Creative Workshop that is an extracurricular activity of engineering practice led by students themselves.
As a whole, our students have a lot of opportunities for diverse experiences through interactions with faculty members and students across a wide range of academic fields (not only Engineering), herein Kyushu University.

School of Engineering has many state-of-the-art research facilities and supports advanced research activities across a wide range of engineering subjects. These facilities provide essential foundations for scholars to conduct high-level studies and collaborative research.

The following page introduces the faculty members engaged in education and research in School of Engineering. They are mainly from Faculty of Engineering but also from the other faculties such as Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Faculty of Human-Environment Studies.

We, School of Engineering, collaborate closely with many partners, KOSEN (National Institute of Technology), industries, local governments and research institutions, to enhance the real-world value of our education and research. For examples, we cultivate the practical skills to our students through practice-oriented programs with KOSEN, we promote industry–academia collaborations in various fields and applications, and we support build-up and development of startup companies under the collaboration with Fukuoka City and/or other local governments. Through these challenges toward our future sustainable and wealthy society, we hope to serve as a dynamic hub where our students, faculty members and local communities grow all together.
