To mitigate earthquake disasters, it is essential to understand the characteristics of input ground motion. Observed strong motion records include the effects of the source, propagation path, and site characteristics. In this laboratory, we conduct research aimed at enhancing the prediction of strong ground motion. We carry out field observations such as strong motion measurements and geophysical surveys, and based on the analysis of observed records, we investigate the factors that generate strong ground motions.
